Shrinking clothes

It never fails everytime I put something in the wash and the dryier I always end up shrinking it big time! - I took a nice pair of pants and with in 3 or 4 washings the pants turned into carpris - and that would have been ok but they were my husbands uniform for the classes he goes to!
